A conflict that is not resolved in small scale will be a full-blown asymmetric disaster and in time, a warfare that will be exploited by different actors (state and non-state). In just a span of one month, short-term increases in oil income linked to the Iran conflict have eased fiscal pressures, but ongoing inflation, higher import expenses, and deep structural issues still weaken Russia’s economic outlook.
Oil markets are turning chaotic as conflicting signals from Washington blur reality—talks with Iran may or may not be happening, threats shift by the day, and yet crude keeps climbing amid escalating tensions.

A single war can change the very nature of a region. The horrors of the Second World War transformed Europe into the continent of peace. In the next five decades, internal borders in Europe disappeared, and the continent enjoyed the ‘peace dividend’ for the rest of the century.

Beijing’s stimulus push may delay crisis, but without deeper reform, China risks a slower version of Japan’s long stagnation. The world today is witnessing an unsettling sense of economic deja vu. Beneath the gleaming skyline of Shanghai and the global dominance of China’s electric vehicle industry, the Chinese economy is on a precipice, similar to the one that dashed Japan’s economic miracle three decades ago.

Days after India’s DAC accorded AoN (Acceptance of Necessity) to IAF (Indian Air Force) requirement for an Airship-based High Altitude Pseudo Satellite (AS-HAPS), Russia flight-tested a conceptually similar system. India’s AS-HAPS and the Russian system, named Barrage-1, are both based on lighter-than-air platforms that operate in the stratosphere. However, while the AS-HAPS is being developed for the Indian Air Force to carry out “persistent Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Electronic Intelligence, telecommunication and remote sensing”, Russia’s Barrage is primarily focused on providing low-latency, high-bandwidth internet to its troops and field formations.
